R-32 GT-R![]() The R32 was the return of the GT-R and it was really a car worthy of the title. Having seen this beauty effortlessly drive around Mondello race track (Dublin, Ireland) at amazing speed I can personally understand why it was nicknamed "Godzilla" by the motoring press. The R32 GT-R had Super-Hicas 4 wheel steering which amazingly improved on the previous R31 Hicas system. The twin turbo DOHC, 24 valve producing 280 BHP with an redline of 7,500 revs could be tuned easily to well over 400 BHP. Not only that, specialist modifiers can bring the BHP up another 2,500 at 10,000 rpm which as you can imagine brings the car and driver to high speed heaven. But amazingly all of that is nothing for I left the best for last, let me introduce you to ATTESSA 4WD. The first proper intelligent four wheel drive system in the world. This gave the R32 the ability to handle bends and tight corners better then anything that had came before it, seeing it tackling a corner is truly breathtaking. This was the return of the GT-R badge at it best, it was an amazing setup which all later skylines GT-R's right up to the R34 improved upon. |
