Macaoimh Activities
The 38th Macaoimh meeting every Tuesday night between 7.30 and 9m.  Members must be between 8 and 11 years old. If you are interested in joining, you can check out some of our recent activities.   
 
Weekend to Tralee 2001
On Saturday & Sunday the 21st & 22nd of April, the 38th & 40th Macoimh went on a mini-weeeknd to Tralee.  We took the train to Tralee and enjoyed the Aqua Dome, a Music Quiz, the Windmill in Blenerville and came home on Sunday with lunch on the train.  Pictures to follow. We stayed in the 1st Kerrys Scout Hall in Tralee.

Weekend to Kilcully 2000

On the 1st and 2nd of April we went on a weekend to Kilcully.  During the weekend we participated in the four assocaitions Hey Jinx Day, went on ariver walk (in the river!).  On Saturday night Fr james came out to say mass and we had our Investiture.  On Sunday we played some games and went done to Murphys Rock and crossed a rope bridge and then went on the slipperly slope!

Chess & Draughts 2000
Our Chess & Draughts competition for 2000 was held in Douglas Scout Hall in February. The chess was won by Passage and the Draughts by Carrigaline.
Cobh & Harbour Cruise 2000

On Sunday 1st October  we went on our first hike of the new scouting year. We took the training from Cork to Cobh and did the Titantic Trail around Cobh even in the bad weather.  After this we went on a Harbour Cruise around Cork harbour and into Haulbowline to see the Navy ships.  After this we went back to the train station and got the train back and went to McDonalds!

Hillwalk in Killarney 2000
The 38th macaoimh participated in the Regions Macaoimh Hillwalk to Killarney which took place on Sunday 12th November.  the weather styed mostly dry and everybody enjoyed the walk even if it was tough going in parts.  Our route took us from Galways Bridge though the National Park to Torc Waterfall.
