Cappanalea, Co. Kerry
In July 1999 the 38th/40th Socuts travelled to Cappanalea OEC in Co. Kerry with Leaders, Martin Murphy, Mark Kenneally, Bobby Kidney, Damien Keohane & Niall Cremin.

Cappanalea OEC is located approximately 8 miles from the town of Killorglan.

Activities on site included, rock climbing, abseiling, hillwalking, canoeing, raft building and orienteering.

We also had an enjoyable day trip which included a tour of Crag Cave in Castle Island, Ocean World in Dingle and swimming in the Aquadome in Tralee with a visit to McDonalds afterwards!

Some of the older scouts also went on a hillwalk to Carrantuohill, Irelands highest mountain at 1,039m

In all 25 Scouts, 2 Venturers & 5 leaders participated in Camp '99 from Ballinlough.
