Features > Camp 2001 > Pier Jumping
6th-14th July 2001
Spade, Co. Wexford
This was certainly one of the more unusual activities of Camp 2001.  The ancient art of climbing up on a pier wall, tunning along and launcging yourself off the pier, oblivious to the 30ft drop !

Despite repeated instructions from the centre staff some scouts proved that they were just as deaf to instruction on camp as in the scout hall.

This resulted in a number of sightings of the lesser spotted "Bellyfloppus" !

Thankfully wetsuits and lifejackets were supplied - just to keep the cold out !

This activity proved very popular.
