BALLINTEER GAMES

WHERE RETRO RULES!

News – Retro Gaming in Ireland!

4th May 2003

  Hello to www.ballinteergames.com!

That’s right, if you’re viewing this on the old Eircom page, then we have a new URL!  Just click on the above link to be transferred to the new look site, complete with a much cooler (and easier to type in!) address.

The Eircom site will be closing soon, so make sure you bookmark the new address.

The other major piece of information is - Ballinteer Games is changing countries! That's right, from the end of June, we'll be returning to the UK (we arrived here in August 2000, supposedly to work for 8 months!). This means that we've decided not to list anything on the for sale page at the moment. Irish visitors to the site can still contact us to sell their stuff until approx. the middle of June and, of course, will be welcome to purchase items once the 'For Sale' page gets started around the beginning of July. Check out the new site for more details!

8th April 2003

Ah well, it’s going slower than anticipated, but a few things are coming in at last!  It’ll take a while to sort through things before they’re put on the ‘For Sale’ page, but if you want to join the list of happy people who’ve sold their stuff to us, you know what to do!

Incidentally, there have been a few people who’ve said that they thought the prices we were offering for machines were a bit low.  Please remember that these prices are for the machines themselves, with no games whatsoever.  We pay for games separately, so for example if you have a Megadrive with ten boxed games (with instructions), we give you €20 for the machine plus another €30 for the games.  The more games you have, the more you’ll end up getting for your stuff!  Also bear in mind that if you have items that are in extremely good condition we’ll offer more than the list price for them.

Most importantly though, please be realistic about what you expect to get for your stuff.  Megadrives with a few games simply aren’t worth €200 any more!

One more thing, we’re looking into getting a proper URL for the site, so expect the address to be jumping soon.  We’ll keep you updated.

29 March 2003

Okay, so maybe we were jumping the gun a bit last week.  Gordon Bennett, it’s difficult to get yourself advertised!  Anyway, hopefully by next Monday there’ll be a few adverts knocking around and maybe soon the site’ll even be popping up in some search engines!  Remember, if you’ve got any old consoles, computers, games and electronic games, get in touch.  We’ll happily take them off your hands in return for some lovely cash!

20 March 2003

Welcome to one of the very few Retro Games Sites in Ireland (are there any others?)

Hopefully everything is in working order, but if anyone finds any dodgy links or spelling mistakes, please let us know!

Obviously we’re just starting out, so the ‘For Sale’ section is conspicuous by its absence, but if anyone out there who’s reading this has an old computer, console or electronic game they want rid of, jump over to the Buying Prices section this very minute – and if you don’t see your machine or game there, just send us an e-mail and tell us what you’ve got!

Over the next few months we’ll hopefully be adding much more to the site, so keep coming back for regular updates, and get in touch if you have something you want to sell!
