19th August 2000 Ballymacelligott Handball Club hosts All-Ireland
Semi-Finals.
Ballymacelligott Handball Club hosted the All-Ireland
juvenile and intermediate semi finals on Saturday 19th August. This
is the first time that the Club has hosted All-Ireland semi Finals
for over 20 years and the Club was honoured that Mr. Peter Carter,
President Irish Handball Council attended both the juvenile and
intermediate games.

Semi-Finals
Girls: U14 Doubles: Carlow
(Miriam Ryan & Deirdre O Brien) defeated Tipperary (Hannah
Simons & Karen Collins) 15/0, 7/15, 15/3.
Girls: U15 Singles: Kerry (Maria
Daly) defeated Carlow (Ciara Mullins) 15/0, 15/2.
Boys U14 Singles: Tipperary
( Jerh Coonan) defeated Meath (Brian Carroll) 15/10, 15/9.
Girls U 16 Doubles: Meath (Joy
Smith & Sinéad Tevlin) defeated Tipperary ( Marian Coleman
& Tracey Coonan ) 21/16, 21/19.
GirlsU14S: Kerry
( Sandy McSwiney) defeated Westmeath (Triona McGuinness)
15/0 15/0.
Boys:U14 Doubles: Westmeath
(John O Shaughnessy & Robert McCarthy) defeated Kerry ( Padraig
McCarthy & Gene Griffin ) 15/7, 15/11.
Kerry has now two Juveniles players who will play in the All Ireland
Finals at an Ulster Venue on 2nd. September: U15 Singles: Maria
Daly and U14 Singles: Sandy McSwiney.
Later on Saturday evening the following games took place:
Emerald Master A Doubles between Kildare (John Browne & Eamon Deegan)
defeated Cork (Tim Healy & Pat O Brien ) 21/9, 21/9.
The highlight
of the evening was the game between Dominic Lynch of Glenbeigh
and the Wexford hurler Barry Goff in the All Ireland Intermediate
singles semi final.
Goff went on to win the Game 21/14, 21/14. It was an excellent game
in which Dominic Lynch was unlucky to be beaten.
