The Girls Handball All Ireland Colleges took place in Clonmel Co. Tipperary on Saturday (18/11/00). Moyderwell, Tralee and Presentation Convent, Castleisalnd represented Kerry colleges.
Karen Lawlor and Gemma O Connell of Moyderwell Tralee were runner-ups in the first year Doubles. They beat Roisin Fennelly and Sinead O Meara of Kilkenny in the semi-final 15/0, 15/2. They lost 15/2, 15/13 in the final to Marian Kennedy and Grace Moorehead of Mayo. Both girls play with Fitzgerald Jones Handball Club in Tralee.
Maria Daly of Presentation Convent, Castleisland won the All-Ireland title in the U16 Singles. Maria beat Patricia Doyle of Wicklow in the semi -final 15/11, 15/12 and went on to take the title having defeated Nicola Kelly of Roscommon 15/5, 15/6. Maria is a member of Ballymacelligott Handball Club.
