Training takes
place on Tuesday evenings during the summer and Sunday mornings during the winter,
with some additional training during the week. These
session cover search techniques; climbing techniques and cliff-top setup; map and chart
reading; use of pyrotechnics; and equipment maintenance.
The team also attend externally-run training programmes including
helicopter operations (thanks to the crew at Waterford Airport); powerboat
handling (I.S.A. certified); occupational first aid; VHF radio operation (Comreg
certified); and search management. Below are images of a recent training
