Brookfield House B&B

Deenagh HouseWhile touring Killarney or the Ring Of Kerry one can visit the many pubs and restaurants, as well as gift and tourist stores. There are also many old and prestigious buildings to be seen (see photo) Deenagh House.

Many of our tourists enjoy a stroll around Killarney town or to the adjacent National Parks.Whatever you decide please ensure to bring your camera, as you may spot some Deer while walking through the National Parks.


Killarney townThe picture on the left shows many local activities that go on in Killarney town.

Killarney has the most varied selection of entertainment in Ireland and all are within driving distance of Brookfield House B&B.

Why not enjoy a drink in an old world pub or the excitement of the many Cabaret shows available.For night entertainment why not enjoy a lively disco, or the traditional music pub. Also for the shopper there are many souvenir shops and there is also an outlet centre which is very keenly priced. Whatever you decide you will be ensured to be kept entertained throughout your holiday.

Killarney CathedralThe picture on the right is the finest example in Ireland of neo-Gothical revival which was once used as a famine hospital and shelter during the 1840s great famine.The stained glass windows tell stories from the Bible and the lives of Irish saints.

The pictures below shows other activities in Killarney. Why not cycle or walk through the National park. Bicycles are also on hire from reputable bicycle shops. Perhaps bring a picnic and make it a really enjoyable day, touring through the parks, where you are likely to spot some Deer or other wildlife if you are lucky.

The Killarney National Park covers an area of 25,000 acres much of which is signposted and awaiting you be it by foot, bicycle or in the jaunting car.

CyclingThere are numerous mountains throughout the Ring Of Kerry which are suitable for climbing and hill walking. Rising to the west of the Killarney valley are the peaks of Mac Gillycuddys Reeks. These mountains are beloved of thMountain Climbinge climber, including Carrauntuohill (3414 feet) which is the highest peak in Ireland.The avid tourist can also visit some of the key visitor sites by foot, car or bicycle. All of this and much more are close by and at hand to Brookfield House B&B. As your hosts we would be delighted to advise you on how to plan your stay.


FishingThere is much to do in the local area of Brookfield House B&B. Why not try some fishing. There are many lovely places to fish in Killarney, permits are available. As your hosts we would be delighted to arrange any of these activities for you.

The picture on the right is a picture of the famous Gap Of Dunloe. Here you can discover Killarey at its mystical best. Travel in the traditional Jaunting car or in a modern coach to Kate Kearneys Cottage. From here if you are energetic, you can Gap Of Dunloewalk 7 miles to the shore of the Upper Lake at Gearhameen. If leisure is your desire, then relax instead in a pony and trap and enjoy the magnificent view en route. Afterwards the Gap boat awaits to steer you through the Long Range to the famous meeting of the waters. Here you shoot the rapids and go through Lough Leane to Ross Castle. This is a truly memorable day trip and is highly recommended.
