My favourite  day  was  when  I  went  to Dublin  to  see a match . The  match  was in Lansdowne  Rd. Ireland  and England  were  playing . It  was a match  of great  importance . Who ever  won got through  to  the European championships  in Spain . Paul, Niall and I went up  to see  the match .
           We  left home  at 6 am . The match  was on at  5.30 pm . We got a bus  in Tuam  to go to Galway  to catch a train at 7 am . We arrived  in Dublin at 10 am . I got something to eat  in a cafe . Then we did a bit of shopping . I bought a few things. I got a jumper and  a t-shirt . At  3.00 p.m. I  got my dinner . At 5 o clock  we went into Lansdowne Rd. The Irish team were Shay  Given, Finnan, Breen, Kelly, Ian Harte, Duff, Keane (captain), Delap, Mcateer, Robbie Keane and Morrision . England kicked off first . Beckham crossed  the ball to Micheal Owen . He scored  on the 23 rd minute . Ireland got one back Duff scored from a free kick . The second half got under way . Ireland got a goal. Roy Keane scored from 45 yards out . England missed a penalty. Beckham took it but put it wide . Ireland thought they were  through but with the last kick of the game England  scored . So that meant that it had to go into extra time . There were no goals in extra time .Then it went into penalties . Ireland scored all theirs but, England missed their last one. So Ireland were on their way to the European championships in Spain. I went home the next day . That was my favourite day.
