The pupils in all classes from first class upwards go to Tuam Swimming Pool for swimming lessons. Their lessons take place from September
until April. The pupils are awarded certificates at the end of this period.

The competitions for Gaelic football and hurling are organised by Cumann Na mBunscol. The school takes part in the five-a-side
competition. The first stages of this competition are played as a blitz. Brownesgrove is grouped for this blitz with Ard Aoibhinn N.S, Lisheen
N.S , Cnoc an Dúin N.S, Killyan N.S and Cooloo N.S.
                   Last year we reached the final only to be beaten in extra time by Cooloo N.S. This year they are being held in our local pitch.

At the end of every school year  we have  a  school tour . This year we are going to Achill  Outdoor  Educational centre which  is  situated  in     C.o. Mayo.
               The activities we took part in were canoeing, kayaking, surfing, body boarding and windsurfing and we also took part in orienteering.
