Nihao! My favourite country is China and I want to tell you all about it. In the history of China there has been many famous Dynasties including, The Han, The Zhau, The Qin, The Sui and The Song Dynasties. In 204 ad the construction of The Great Wall started.
And in 868 ad the oldest surviving book was printed. It was called "The Diamond Sutra".
China occupies one fifth  of the Asian continent. This country has the largest population in the world. Each day about 50,000 babies are born there. Its inventions include fireworks, silk, gunpowder, porcelain, paper money, seismographs, the wheelbarrow and paper. Its area is 9,572,900 sq. km and its population is 1,235,700. Its currency is the yuan. The capital is Beijing and its highest point is Mt. Everest. The language is Mandarin Chinese and more people speak it than any other language in the world. Chinese is written in characters . A Chinese person learns about 5,000 characters, But there are actually about 40,000 characters.                                                                                                               Its agricultural produce are mainly wheat, maize, fruit, sugar cane, soya beans, pigs, sheep, cattle, fish and rice. Rice is Chinas main food crop and is prepared in many exotic ways, Traditionally eaten with chopsticks Chinese food has become a very popular worldwide dish. Its native animals include the very rare Giant Panda. It lives in the bamboo forests of  the southwest  and eats mainly grasses, bamboo shoots, roots and bulbs.
Some Chinese people believe that their ancestral spirits protect them and in return they offer them food and burn incense  at their graves. Chinese people all over the world celebrate their New Year with Dragon Dances and Fire Crackers to frighten away evil spirits. In Chinese astrology there is a different animal each year for twelve years. This year is the year of the horse and I was born in the year of the snake.                                                                          Chinese people also believe in ancient medicine which they make with many herbs, oils and spices and many cures have been proven to work.
Its education system gives all children six years of primary education, But only one third have access to secondary education. Chinas main manufactured  products are cement, steel, chemical fertilizers, sugar, cloth, watches, bicycles, sewing machines and televisions. Its exports include petroleum products, cereals, clothing, silk, knitted fabrics, tea, processed foods, and cotton cloth. Its mining includes zinc, copper, lead, tin, iron ore and gold.
Chinas landmarks include The Great Wall, Temple Of Heaven, The Yellow River, The Imperial Palace, The Yangetze River, Karakoli Lake, The Huangshan and Paddy Fields.
