One of the best things about this seat is its origins, a scrap pallet and the idea for its shape taken from a picture in a gardening book. Total cost is a little bother and some fun in a shed.
I saw the its shape in "Cottage Gardens" by Geoff Hamilton, a book full of spirit and great advice for making sensible, real gardens. The seat was pictured in a quiet corner, surrounded with flowers and longing to be sat upon. I got the measurements from a comfortable kitchen chair and found the most important aspects are making the back high enough, sloping backwards at a little angle and to put a little slope backward in the seat.
