Sitting on the Porch Philosophy

Sitting on the Porch Philosophy

Did you ever feel like this little fella, going around and around but finishing back where you began. Life is rarely this bad but that does not stop us feeling the way we do.

The title of this page comes from sitting on the porch of my fantasy ranch house in Montana, on a creaky wooden chair, bloodhound by my side and looking out over the Rockies.

The list below is some of the stuff I wish I had heard when I was 17.

  • There are no heroes.
  • You are on a one way ticket, no turning back and no rehersals
  • You are one of the by-products of 3.5 billion years of evolution on planet Earth, but you are not the reason behind evolution.
  • Life and the process of living is the best fun I know, especially when you think of the alternative.
  • You cannot postpone a rainbow or a sunset.
  • Any big decision, you make it on your own.
  • Refuse to be intimidated.
  • You live in a world of partial knowledge, partial power and partial freedom but yet you are totally responsible for any choices you make.
