Many species of birds can be seen here. Rahasane is famous for its wintering wildfowl and it also supports nesting waders in summer e.g. snipe, dunlin, curlew, redshank, lapwing. White Fronted Geese regularly overwinter but numbers have been declining over the years. Large numbers of Whooper Swans, Wigeon, Teal and Mallard ducks are recorded each year.
