Carrigboy Heights is situated in one of the most beautiful regions of Ireland. West Cork is renowned for its lush flora, rolling hills, abundant forests, mountains and lakes. The Kilmichael area has important historical significance. A mile beyond Carrigboy Heights there exists the monument to the famous Kilmichael Ambush, a few miles in the other direction there is Beal na Blath where Michael Collins was shot. This area is also renowned for its history, folklore and Celtic mythology.There are numerous places to explore from the Seal Islands of Bantry Bay to the bustle of Killarney and further west to the beautiful Ring of Kerry. To the north there is Blarney Castle where you can kiss the famous stone and in return receive the "gift of the gab" and surrounding all of west cork are beautiful, sandy beaches.
