Castlemartyr GAA Golf Society Fermoy 26-5-2001After a week of glorious weather sadly the weather turned wet for our visit to Fermoy.
Newcomer to the society and to the village, Castle Manor resident Pat Mahon won the event with a creditable 37 pts (14 h/cap) on a tough day for golf.
Captain, Pat Walsh was second just edging out into third former great under age hurler with Castlemartyr Dan Buckley.
Fourth place went to Handicap secretary Christy O Sullivan while in fifth place was the man who played in shorts and was blamed for bringing the bad weather down on us, Charles O Neill.
Damien Roche and Don Mc Aulliffe picked up the Front nine and Back nine prizes respectively.
Others who participated on the day were John Roche, Fergus Lynch, Jim O Rourke, Michael Carroll, Paul O Connell, Eamonn Roche, Bil Clifford, Ultan Murphy, Brian Curtin, Jimmy Smiddy, Moss Duggan, John Mc Grath and Richard Ahern
20 played on the day with a special welcome to Bill Clifford who made his debut with the society.Thanks to John Roche for organising the day and prizes.
