KHITOMER PEACE ACCORDS
The Khitomer Accords are the principles outlining the historic peace treaty between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets, which were negotiated in 2293.
The Khitomer Accords were the first step in rapprochement between the two longtime enemies.
In response to the Federation Council's condemnation of his invasion of Cardassia in 2372, Gowron unilaterally withdrew the Klingon Empire from the Khitomer Accords.
Gowron reinstated the treaty a year later when an alliance between the Dominion and the Cardassian Union threatened to destabilize the Alpha Quadrant.
Ambassador Curzon Dax represented the Federation in negotiations with the Klingon Empire for the Khitomer Accords in 2293.
The second Khitomer Accords banned subspace weapons, including isolytic burst weapons.
