Clannad and Máire Brennan Spotlighted on CNN "World Beat"

The CNN program "World Beat" focused on Celtic music with two, 30 minute shows with a segment specifically devoted to Clannad. Máire Brennan, lead singer for the band, talked about the group and its history. Scenes of Leo's Tavern, videos for "Harry's Game" and "In A Lifetime" were shown, as well as a recent interview and performance of Máire Brennan in Atlanta, Georgia. Máire also talked about the success of her sister, Eithne (Enya), and why Eithne left the group Clannad in the early '80's to persue a very successful solo career. The recent solo project by Máire Brennan was also discussed and clips of the video for "Perfect Time" were shown on the show.
The rest of the two-part special on Celtic music on "World Beat" included many, many other great artists. Hopefully you were able to watch the rest of this special show. The CNN "World Beat" program is shown on CNN and CNN International on Saturdays and Sundays. Check your local listings or the CNN web site for details on air times. Cheers go to CNN!
