Clannad and Máire Brennan Re-mixes/Samples Spring Up


It seems there is a flurry of re-mixes and sampled songs appearing that use Clannad or Máire Brennan songs. First off, for the last several weeks there is a commercial playing on CNNfn (and maybe other television networks) which has a song based on the Clannad song "I Will Find You". However, the song in the commercial is NOT by Clannad but done by some unknown group and the words have been altered to "I will be with you". The commercial is for an insurance and financial services company called Allianz.

Next a dance/trance Moonman Club Mix of Pulp Victim's song "The World 99" uses Máire Brennan's song "Oró" (source: Barry Jobson). However, Inga in Germany says that it is not Máire Brennan actually singing but some other woman. Inga goes on to say that she heard the song on the Radio eins Live "Party Service" and that only the line "Cadlodh samh codlodh samh a páiste mó chroí" from "Oró" is used in the song.

If this wasn't enough, a dance remix of "Harry's Game" with the working title "Saltwater" is done by the house outfit Chicane (source: posting in alt.music.clannad newsgroup).
