Brennan Sisters' Contribution to "The Whoseday Book"

Available since the beginning of this year, an interesting book for the millenium (actually the year 2000) has been published to benefit the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF). The book is called "The Whoseday Book" and is a kind of diary for the year 2000 and an anthology of Irish art and writing combined. The essential idea is that 366 (the year 2000 being a leap year) leading Irish writers, artists and public figures have each been invited to take a page, i.e. one day in the year 2000, which they have marked with an image or piece of their writing. A detailed review of the book is available from The Irish Times.

Máire Brennan and Eithne Brennan (Enya) have both contributed to this book. Máire Brennan's contribution can be found on the December 8, 2000 page in the book where she has personally hand-written lyrics for her song "Heal This Land" in English and "Song of David (Psalm 67)" in Gaelic. Eithne's contribution appears on the December 25, 2000 page where she has personally hand-printed the music (notes) for "Oíche Chiún" and neatly printed, in old-style lettering, the lyrics in Gaelic.

"The Whoseday Book" is available for sale all across Ireland with such nationwide outlets as Eason's Bookstores carrying the book. Also, a deluxe version of the book, has been seen available at specialty book shops such as Kenny's Bookshop and Art Galleries in Galway city, and the gift shop at the National Gallery in Dublin. The book is also available in the U.K. and parts of Europe, and should be available in the U.S. shortly.
