![]() ![]() ![]() Clannad "Celtic Collection" CD cover (left) and back (right) Jörg Kubitza in Germany informs us of another Clannad compilation album called "Celtic Collection" spotted on sale in Europe. This compilation is being released by BMG Entertainment International UK & Ireland Ltd., copyright 1999, and made in the EU. Jörg notes the number on the narrow CD side as '74321 674532 CAMDEN'. Also the front cover has a picture of Máire Brennan as in "Magic Elements - The Best Of Clannad" CD cover. The track listing is as follows: 1. Theme From Harry's Game 2. Croí Cróga 3. A Mhuirnín Ó 4. More Books with Clannad, Máire Brennan, and Enya A reader sent us a note telling us of some additional books with references to Clannad or members of the Brennan family. Celtic Women, a book by Mairéad Sullivan and Martin Melhuish - "Profiles the lives and careers of over twenty Celtic women musicians. What has inspired them to perform? What do they feel about traditional and contemporary Celtic culture?" reads the catalog description for this book. The book includes profiles of Enya, Máire Brennan, Mary Black, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Loreena McKennitt, Maura O'Connell, Mairéad Sullivan (co-author), and others. Promo shots of six of the women grace the cover including Enya, Máire Brennan, Loreena McKennitt, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Natalie MacMaster. The book is available in paperback, 224 pages with black and white, and color photos. The publisher is Quarry Press (ISBN 1550822462) with a publication date of June 1999. Note that Martin Melhuish is also the author of the Celtic Tides book mentioned previously. Then there is The Complete Guide To Celtic Music: From The Highland Bagpipe and Riverdance to U2 and Enya by June S. Sawyers.
