Recent BMI Song Database Listings for Máire Brennan - updated September 6
A recent check of the publically accessable database on the
BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.) web site reveals
some recent entries of songs by Máire Brennan. One song title is "Ceolfidh Me" with
Máire Brennan (also listed under Máire Ní Bhraonin) and Denis Woods listed as
writers and the BMI work number '4533364'. Barry Jobson informs us that this was actually released
as a b-side to Máire's "Heal This Land" single. Another song title is "Pilgrim" with Máire Brennan
and Tim Jarvis listed as writers with the BMI work number '4678924'. Note that this later song title,
"Pilgrim", has a much later BMI work number than the song titled "Pilgrim's Way" which appeared
on Máire Brennan's second solo album, Misty Eyed Adventures. Finally, a song with
the title "World" is listed for Máire Brennan as sole writer with the BMI work number
'4546436'.
So, these recent BMI listings might indicate some of the titles of songs on the forthcoming solo Máire Brennan album,
(just speculation at this point). Songs listed on the BMI database do not have
to be released.
Checks under Ciaran Brennan, Noel Duggan, and Padraig Duggan reveal no new song listings
for Clannad since the Landmarks album with the exception of "Christmas Angels" which was released as a special
single. One can speculate that the new Clannad album is not that far enough along yet.
However, as a side note, a clever fan (on the alt.music.enya newsgroup) revealed earlier this past week that
a new song listing for Enya has appeared on the BMI database under the title "Ascension"
with the BMI work number '4792526'.
