    The Whoseday Book Website

The publishers of The Whoseday Book, the unique Irish diary for 2000 to benefit the Irish Hospice Foundation, have set up a web site explaining more about the book, and a way of ordering the book direct. As noted in articles previously posted on this web site, the book is filled with contributions from many famous people in Irish society including contributions from Máire Brennan and Eithne Brennan (Enya) among others. A list of some of the contributors to the book is available here from the Whoseday Book web site.

    Scoil Gheimhridh Frankie Kennedy 1999/2000

On this week's edition of the RTE Radio 1 program, The Late Session, host Aine Hensey announced that during the days of this year's Scoil Gheimhridh Frankie Kennedy (the Frankie Kennedy Winter School), the biggest Irish Traditional Music event held in Gweedore, Co. Donegal, that a live web camera will be set up to capture the event for those who could not attend. Unfortunately, the exact URL address for this live web camera was not given, but the ISP providing this service is the Dungloe-base Celtic Internet Services. As noted in previous postings on this web site, several Brennans have made surprise appearances at some of the Scoil Gheimhridh Frankie Kennedy events. Last year Deirdre Brennan sang with Aoife Ní Fhearraigh and previous years Máire Brennan has taken the stage with other notable performers. The Winter School is in honor of the late Frankie Kennedy of the group Altan. As always, every year, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Ciaran Tourish, and Dermot Byrne of Altan will be present throughout the event holding classes, sessions, and concerts. This year's Scoil Gheimhridh Frankie Kennedy takes place from December 27th until January 3rd.
