Máire Brennan "Follow The Word" CD Single
Amanda writes to tell us that
she was able to obtain the (very hard to find) special CD single release for Máire Brennan's "Follow The Word"
which was available through the on-line music, book, and auction retailer
Amazon.com as
an auction item. Amanda tells us (through a posting on the Celtic Muse Mailing List) what is on the CD:
"I received Maire's new version of Follow the
Word yesterday and it is so awesome. I have four
different versions, the original, original without
entro, new version with jig, new version without jig.
My favourite is definitely new version with jig. Maire
Breathnach is on violin/fiddle."
Thanks to Amanda for the information.

Máire Brennan in March/April 2000 "Today's Christian Woman" Magazine
"Be Thou My Vision" On 1995 Iona Album
Fred from the Netherlands
sent us a note to remind us that Máire Brennan sang on the group Iona's version of
"Bi-Se I Mo Shuil (Be Thou My Vision)" on their 1995 release "Journey into the Morn". Another version to compare
with Máire Brennan's 1999 solo version on her "Whisper To The Wild Water". Also of note is the
fact that Máire Brennan sang on the track "Divine Presence" on the same 1995 Iona album. Thanks to Fred
for the information.
Máire Brennan "Whisper To The Wild Water" Available in the Netherlands
Ed in the Netherlands notes on
the alt.music.clannad Usenet newsgroup that Máire Brennan's new solo album "Whisper To The Wild
Water" is now available in the Netherlands. He says that "Free Record shop" in Utrecht carries the
record along with a number of Christian Music and Book shops across Holland. A 14 track UK version
with the extra bonus track "Don't Give Up" is available at Christian Music and Book shops as well as the standard
13 track European version (not the Free Record shop as previously mentioned). This is good news to anxious fans of Máire Brennan where she
performs live in concert on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th at RAI in Amsterdam. Her final
stop on her live concert tour of the U.K. plus Amsterdam. Thanks to Ed for the information. - Corrected March 16

in a recent issue of Hot Press Magazine (Ireland).
A check of the Hot Press Magazine Web Site doesn't

Clannad and Enya to be Included in RTE One Television Documentary
A new television documentary series on
RTE One Television (Ireland) about the rise of Irish Pop music (since the 1950's to present) called "From A Whisper To A Scream" is
to include Clannad and Enya in Program No. 4 (the Mid 1980's) in the
series. It is unclear if any new interviews of Clannad or Enya will be included in the series, but most likely classic
archival material will be shown. The first program in the series about the rise of Irish popular music
from the 1950's to the 1960's has already been aired on RTE One on February 29th. The series was produced
and directed by David Heffernan, with the help of Hot Press Magazine. If any readers
have the opportunity to see this program on RTE One Television in Ireland, we would like to know what mentions
there are of Clannad and Enya. Send an email to clannad.news@ireland.com.
