TRANSPORT IN THE CLONDALKIN AREA!
There
are many forms of transport in the Clondalkin area including buses,
trains, taxi’s and haknees.
Buses
Buses
are constantly running throughout Clondalkin village and you can always
rely on them to be on time. There
are seven different services running in the area.
These are the 76, 76A, 76B, 51B, 68, 69, 210. The 76 and the 76B take to the square shopping centre,
Tallaght. The 76A will to
Blanchardstown or Liffey Valley. The
51B, 68 and 69 will take you all the way to Dublin’s fair city. The fair
for under 16’s is 40p to near locations and 60p to anywhere else in
Dublin. The adult fair is £1.15
to all destinations. For the
millennium we received over 50 new buses of nice and comfortable
surroundings, which you could cheaply avail of when you come to the
Clondalkin area.
Trains
In
Clondalkin we have a nicely located train station just off the Palmerstown
bridge near Clondalkin village. The
very popular arrow brings you into Dublin city centre within 5 minutes, it
runs every half hour. It
costs 65p for under 16’s and £1.15 for adults.
There is also an arrow going straight to Kildare which will take
you there in at least 20 minutes cost for this will be a little higher.
Haknees
There
are several haknee ranks (privately owned taxi companies).
These are L.D cabs, Premier Cabs, Westside Cabs and also the mill
cabs located beside the Mill shopping centre.
These will take you anywhere that you want to go.
These will cost under £5 if you want to go somewhere in the
Clondalkin area. Other costs
depend on your destination but will not be too dear.
Taxi’s
Taxi’s
run through the village every minute of the day but do not have a rank in
the area. The cost will be
similar to those of the haknees and will anywhere in Dublin.
