29th May saw the annual end of season night out for the
players of The Villa. After a nice bit of grub in an
Indian restaurant in Clontarf it was time for the handing
out of the awards for the season just past. The winners were: Golden Boot: John O'Reilly Players Player of the Year: John Hartnett Player of the Year: Gerry Shanley Lifetime Achievement Award: Mark Hyland The trophies handed out were not the usual marble base, plastic footballer - oh no - Billy had gone to the trouble of getting some very classy looking trophies that would adorn anyone's mantlepiece, even the golden boot WAS a golden boot. An award that wasn't on the list and should have been was Club Man of the Year, and to be fair there would have been no competition - Billy would have won hands down. So thanks for all the texts, all the organisation and time put in to going to meetings and organising Race Nights, trip to the dogs, end of season events, etc, etc, etc. It is very much appreciated.
