BUILDING AND REORDERING OF CHURCHES
The principal elements are
- the chair, marking the place of presidency
- the ambo from which the word of God is proclaimed
- the altar, centre of the eucharistic banquet/sacrifice.
The relationship of the sanctuary to the entire worship space should be such that the
whole assembly is clearly seen to be a single priestly community, actively involved in
worship, even though structured by a variety of ministries (11:1;11:2).

BUILDING AND REORDERING OF CHURCHES
The Altar
Like the altar itself the cross is a reminder of Christs sacrifice, which is made sacramentally present and in which the faithful participate at the eucharist. The relationship between altar and cross should be reflected in their design. The cross should be located in such a way that it is clearly visible to the congregation and may easily be venerated and incensed.
