CARE FOR THE BEREAVED

At its last meeting, the Parish Pastoral Council identified Care for the Bereaved, as one of the priorities needs in the Parish. Already the '‘Rainbows' programme (which seeks to help children who suffer loss through death or separation) is in operation in the area and it is hoped to extend it in the Parish.

The next meeting of the Parish Council – Monday Nov 11 at 8pm in Edmond Rice Centre – will be given over to setting up a Bereavement Ministry in the parish. The meeting will be addressed by Sr. Kathleen Maguire who has experience at local and national level in this area.

Anybody who is interested in getting involved in Care for the Bereaved is asked to contact any member of the Pastoral Council or the Parish Office.

Next meeting of the Pastoral Council will take place on Monday 11 Nov at the earlier time of 8pm in the Edmund Rice Centre.

THEMES IN IRISH SPIRITUALITY

This course, presented by Dr. Una Agnew SSL will examine a number of themes in Irish spirituality - a sense of place, a sense of God in everyday life, awareness of the Trinity, the Cross, God in Creation, pilgrimage and story. Most people mentioned that it was difficult to remember to bring the weekly envelope to Mass and also to find the right money to put in the envelope each Sunday.
