Anxiety

Anxiety is an unwanted sub-emotion of fear. Most everyone a some stage within there lives will experience some effects of anxiety. It may be going for a job interview, being the center of attention at your party or wedding or even going on a journey that may cause you to experience some symptoms of anxiety. It could be a disagreement you may have had with someone and after some mind cultivation you realise your own faults and now regret turned into anxiety. Anxiety within your mind is screaming out to be heard.

Elevated heart rate, your heart is pounding so hard within your chest, you feel your insides trembling, your hands start to sweating, you feel so frightened that your breathing becomes erratic. Thoughts come in and out of your mind at lighting speed with messages of, What did i do, I'm in so much trouble, how can i fix this, O I'm so scared, I wish i could just runaway, i hope they are OK. Then it repeats its self over and over and over and over. Sleep is disrupted eating is disrupted feeling happy is disrupted. At this point you are flooded with so much emotion and gripped with fear you feel so vulnerable. Our sweating, heart rate and breathing are all normal symptoms of anxiety because they are connected to our sympathetic nervous system, which kicks in when we're stressed.

Anxiety starts from one point and that point is a point of Thinking. We would not experience anxiety if we did not think, but also we would not do much of anything if we didn't think. The problems arise when maladaptive thinking occurs. This is distorted thinking. Distorted thinking is the fuel for anxiety. One thought leads to another and another all form one single point, (The beginning).

So how do i STOP Anxiety. You Don't.
All emotions have to be felt and like all emotions anxiety will have it's moment.

Mind Cultivation Of Anxiety.

Good Mind Cultivation Of Anxiety is to learn to understand the process of anxiety and the symptoms associated with it. It is not about trying to get rid of anxiety but simply understanding it and its trigger.
The main trigger for anxiety is Thinking. You could say it's your job that is the trigger. This may not necessarily be true. What is your thinking in relation to your job. Is your thinking distorted, are you over analyzing everything. You could say it's a journey you are going on that is making you anxious, Is It, or could it be your thinking and analyzing of the journey ahead. You could say it's a person that makes you feel anxious, is it, or could it be your thinking in relation to the relationship you have with the person.

Like i said in the beginning of this topic "Anxiety within your mind is screaming out to be heard". Open your mind to it, allow your commonsense, rational thinking enter the space. But you may not have practiced mind cultivation sufficiently to quell this state of mind alone.

The Patrice of mind cultivation of anxiety is not trying to eliminate anxiety, but gain an understand of our own thinking, behavior and approach to or within situations or circumstances which may lead to anxiety. Remember it is our distorted thinking which creates our anxiety. I have found within personal past experiences of anxiety that one form of action is to talk to someone you trust. This is because Anxiety can be relentless and could leave the body/mind exhausted very quickly. When we are exhausted or tired our thinking can quickly become maladaptive. Talking to a rationally minded person could shed new light on your thought pattern and may give you insight into the circumstance related to your anxiety.

Going back to your negative thoughts record (NTR) can help in softening the impact of anxiety. Anxiety is a state of mind controlled by our thinking. Adaptive thinking is key in minimizing the effects of anxiety.

Adaptive Thinking
Think Logically...Logical thinking helps process facts and reason rather than act on emotions and distorted thinking. Is what I'm thinking true, factual, real, reasonable.

Avoid total commitment to a decision you feel you cannot change... Commit to taking small steps that are achievable within making changes to your approach towards your anxiety. This could be simply walking to the end of the street rather than just to the front gate. Or it could be committing to 1 hour a day/week voluntary rather than everyday you know you cannot keep.

Don't rely on intuition exclusively.... It can trigger snap judgments and rash decisions. If you have a “gut feeling” about a situation it may not be intuition, it could possibly be a panic attack. This kind of false intuition can be brought on by a scenario that you're afraid of and just add to your negative thinking.

Avoiding decisions to escape the unpleasant aspects of anxiety... Avoidance due to anxiety reinforces the power you already have given to your belief in your anxiety. Avoidance comes at a cost. Isolation and untrue beliefs about self, others and society all aid in reinforcing the power you give to anxiety.

Most important is to believe in yourself. Believe that you are valued, that you are worthwhile, that you do matter. WHY, because it is true, it is simply your DISTORTED thinking that is making feel the emotion of FEAR.
