Waste Audit Report

Summary of waste management programme –

Waste awareness has been developed in all areas of the school community
A substantial reduction in most areas of waste collection has been achieved, most noticably in plastics (17%) and organics (35%).
The remaining paper and organics is to be recycled in the wormery.
A monthly collection for metal cans and glass is to be introduced.
The amount of glass collected was too small to be considered, and came purely from the staff room.

Please note that due to time constraints the students have not had time to examine the outcome of the waste audit in detail, some preliminary graphs produced by them have been included, the rest were produced by staff / parents.

It is planned to produce a poster of the results which will be on permanent display in the wormery area of the school. The series of posters will be produced by the students themselves in the future.
