The Future at Cahans

The Cahans building has been preserved and various uses for it were explored but no viable use found.
Now with financial help from the European Union Special Support Programme for Peace and Reconciliation, the International Fund for Ireland and from other funds and benefactors a cross-community committee plan to restore it and use it as a meeting place for people of all churches and traditions where understanding can lead to reconciliation, for educational purposes including the telling of the story of presbyterianism with particular reference to Cahans, as a genealogical centre, and to locate a computer related business enterprise there.

The Programme for Peace and Reconciliation has given a grant for a feasibility study and we are optimistic that this will lead to the restoration of the church building and the developments given above.

Further support from interested people is needed and the Committee invite you to become a Friend of Cahans by making a donation, large or small.

Anyone interested in the possibility of locating a teleworking enterprise in the restored building should contact the commiittee.
