The late Leo Brady was the last surviving member of the Cork hurling team which won the 1925 All Ireland Junior Championship.
He was at one time a keen amateur actor, but sport remained his greatest love. He was considered to be an outstanding member of the Shamrocks team from Shanbally, when they were ranked as one of the best senior hurling teams in Cork. He continued to line out for the club right up to the age of 47, when he played his last gaelic football match in 1950.
A neighbour of his, I always considered him to be a true gentleman.
For this photograph, which I took about ten years ago, he proudly wore his All Ireland winners medal.
