Course Content and Construction
The courses are based on a critical evaluation of the theories of a functional/notional syllabus and the communicative approach to language teaching and learning. While theories of transformational generative grammar are not ignored choice of exponants for the realisation of functions and notions takes account of the valuable work done on the structures and vocabulary of the Irish language. A sounds course, based on a phonemic analysis of the language forms an important part of all our courses. Aspects of the history and literature of the language are included in courses as appropriate.
