Give Guiding a Go!

On this page you'll find tips on how to do your bit.

PR is everyone's business. It's easy.

Here are some suggestions.

Be seen in Uniform. Our Uniform is the best PR tool we have, so lets use it!

Parish newsletters – keep them informed of all activities: hikes, camps, guest speakers, parent’s evening, badge work etc.

Patrol Leaders could write the article for the newsletter.

Participate in community / parish events – community week, church parade and be aware of what’s happening in the parish / community.

Inform your local paper of activities, especially new or exciting ones.

Put CGI posters and information leaflets in your meeting place, school, library, youth information centre, shopping centre, doctor/dentist surgery etc.

Send a Christmas Card / World Thinking Day card to Chaplain, Community / Parish Council, School Principal, Caretaker, Key-holder, badge examiners etc.

Take photos of all events and keep an album.

Send a Newsletter to parents once/twice per year.

Hold a Parent’s Night or Open Evening.

Do something once a year for the wider community – Sports Day, Clean up, tree planting, visit local hospital, old folks home.

Offer to help at an event – summer project, Old Folks Party, Local Sports day etc.

Invite guest speakers to your meeting – make sure they leave with a good impression.

Get a request played on the radio.

Create a website for you company/unit.
