EAST CORK DIRECT
WEB-SITE DESIGNERS

........EAST CORK DIRECT FINISH SECOND IN EUROPEAN MINI-COMPANY FINALS.....STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.....

Introduction
We at East Cork Direct, a young enterprise mini-company, aim to design high-quality, economically viable web-sites for businesses in our locality. This site is a demonstration of our skills.

Company Profile

At the start of the year, seven Midleton CBS, transition year students came together to form E.C.Direct, a Young Enterprise Ireland Mini-Company. Our idea, web site design, was a highly original and innovative product. We found our web-site design marketplace by locating our target market at the lower cost end, specifically identifying small and medium sized businesses in the East Cork area that desired web-sites but preferred not to pay high prices charged by professionally established web-site design companies. However there was one major challenge which we had to overcome if our innovative idea was to work. The challenge was to learn how to design web sites to a high standard. This was difficult but worthwhile in the end. Once we had designed one site we started to receive many demands for our services and this has continued right up to the present.

  Midleton CBS School Crest

Midleton CBS School
East Cork Direct is run my students from fourth year Midleton CBS. The school is a Christian Brothers secondary school based in Midleton, a town in county Cork, Ireland. The fourth year programme we participated in is intended to give students a year between the Junior and Leaving Certificate programmes to mature. It has been restructured to ensure students do not lose study habit while retaining the T.Y.O. features. While students are encouraged to take T.Y.O. we have left it optional i.e. a Junior Cert pupil may proceed directly to fifth year if he wishes.

Mini-Company Programme
We are taking part in a mini-company programme run by Young Enterprise Ireland. The programme is designed to give students real pratical learning experience. They are tasked to set up their own company and to produce a product or service and make a profit. This is "learning by doing" as the student learns from his mistakes and profits from his success. click here to find out more>>>
