Touring Club

The Touring Clubs weekend away to Killybegs at the weekend proved to be a huge success. Eight members travelled to Donegal and cycled for two days taking in some of Donegal’s toughest climbs. The members as seen in the photo where from left to right Fergus Murray, Paul Hughes, Barry Cassidy, Seamus Mc Elroy, Tommy Martin, Jerry Mc Clenaghan, Gerard Hughes and Barry Murray.

On some climbs hiking boots would have been more appropriate, although all the climbs were rewarded with exhilarating descents. It’s possible that this weekend to Donegal will be one of many in the touring clubs calendar and may even become known as the annual Donegal run.

Up coming outings for the touring club include the Wicklow 200(km) on the 16th of June. This will be followed by the two day Border Trek the week after.

The continuing Tuesday and Thursday night spins which leave Emyvale at 6.45 PM are a perfect opportunity for new members to join and take part in low distance spins. The Sunday spin will be leaving Emyvale at the usual time of 9.30am.

Racing Club

The Emyvale race will take place on the 26th of May and will start at 1.00pm. The circuit will start in Emyvale and continue to Monaghan, silver stream, Glaslough and back to Emyvale. It would be greatly appreciated if the members of the club could make themselves available on the day, as marshals will be required to man the corners around the circuit.

Ballyboughan, Co Dublin was the venue on Sunday last for the Juniors, Seniors and Vets, with Connor Murphy, Tony Murphy, Paul Brady and Michael Mullholland all in action. They all put in a great performance and finished well in the main bunch.

The under age cyclists put in another great showing on Sunday week last in Bohermeen, Co Meath with Michael Mc Aree 3rd and James Keane 4th in the Under 14 section.
