Welcome to the newly revised Home Page and Website of Ennis Model Flying Club.

My name is Declan McEvoy and this year I am the Clubs Chairperson. Our Club was founded in 1996 by a group of model flying enthusiasts based in the general broad catchment area radiating in all directions from the central hub of Ennis, in County Clare.

Our flying site is located about six miles from Ennis in the quiet pastoral heartland of East Clare.

We are happily affiliated to MACI, embracing as we do the disciplines and benefits of it’s experience and wise counsels.

From the outset our aim has been to work together in an atmosphere of friendship and co-operation in the context of fostering and encouraging the flying of fixed wing model airplanes; we set out to achieve this goal in such a way that our members will fly safely, in an ambience where the acquisition of all essential skills and Certification is promoted in an environment of fun relaxation and enthusiasm.

We welcome and actively encourage those who are new to our sport to learn and acquire the skills that will enable them quickly to fully participate in all our activities.

Our Website aims to inform and so we have provided links whereby you will find useful information pertaining to our club and the hobby in general. P.J. O’Gorman, our Secretary, will give you a brief outline of the clubs activities, while Tom Waters our P.R.O. will ease the pathway for those of you who may wish to contact us for any reason. Pat Deegan will tell you what is needed to get into model flying and what club membership entails while Maurice Griffin, our Treasurer, will tell you about the clubs policy for visitors. Last but not least, I will tell you in another link about the more significant rules that govern us.

I hope you enjoy our site, that you find it informative and helpful, and not least that it gives you a flavour of the magic that is model flying in the land of Biddy Early!! Thank you.
