Markus is our Head Guide and Fly fishing Coordinator. He arranges your fly fishing trip to your personal requirements.

He was born in Germany and has an M.Sc. in Hydrology. Markus is  a qualified Marine & Countryside Guide. Whether for Everglades Tarpon, Ascension Bay Bonefish or Marble Trout in Slovenia - he has fly fished in many parts of the world! He fishes the local Mayo waters for the past 20 years and has specialised in salt water fly fishing along the North Mayo coast. Markus is a member of the Salmon & Trout Association and the Game-Angling Instructors' Association (GAIA).

His experience will help you to enjoy a successful fly fishing trip to the West of Ireland! 

Explore Erris is closely involved in the Marine Institute's Catchment Management Programme. Therefore we encourage all our clients to practise "Catch & Release"! We all depend on an intact environment to enjoy our hobby!
