The SiLENT PASS v2.0 Missions are designed to help you practice offline for online fighting.

They install into a copy of the original Red Flag file provided free to all by GSC.

They are "silent first pass" guns-only missions, where you fight lone and pairs of bogeys.

Though you only fight the F/A-18 Hornet online we provided the other plane types for some diversity.

Introduction

Online fighting exists under certain Rules of Engagement or ROE. One of these rules for a guns-only fight is a "silent first pass". You fly towards the bogey and do not open fire, head on, at the first pass.

Changes

The first set of 8 missions were thought to be a little too easy. The bogeys did not acquire you soon enough after the first silent pass, so we have souped them up a little. Now as you both pass you will see the bogey's radar switch on. It will take them less time to find you, and they will reverse or turn around to you quicker than before.

The range of altitudes has been increased from 1,000feet AGL to 13,000feet AGL.

Individual take off times for the paired bogeys in the last 4 missions are delayed.This provides greater separation between them.

Bogeys now merge with you at, or about, corner velocity so be aware for very quick reversals, especially from the Mig-23 Flogger.

Replays from the first version will no longer work with this updated version.

SiLENT PASS v2.0 Mission #1

A 1 vs. 1 against a guns equipped (mission is guns-only) F/A-18 Hornet. Bogey will arrive from the North, at varying altitudes, and will pass you with his radar off. He will only attack you post-merge.

Online you will only face the F/A-18 Hornet, usually in a guns-only mission
