Update: 06 November 2000

This is a free installer (b1) to our MacOS registered users. Work has ceased on the STRiKECat project. We are leaving the intial beta up on the site for those who wish to fly around with the Tomcat in the F/A-18 Korea environment.

Below are some of the "Read Me" points.

Option - Click here on STRiKECat to download the installer package. The archive is encrypted with the same password as the other Mac OS mission sets. If you cannot remember it then please mail us.

.2 The F/A-18 Hornet is replaced by the F-14D "Bombcat

.3 The "Bombcat" has 21000lbs of internal fuel, and a faster cruise speed than the F-18

.5 The internal Mission Editor still functions as normal. Two changes reflect the strike role of the "Bombcat" (limited) and the name of the F/A-18 Hornet has changed to F-18 Hornet (in the spirit of tradition)

.6 Only the Training missions have been changed for this beta release (Feb '98). The Training Theatre is now in the Nevada/Fallon Network Theatre. See the Training Mission briefings for more information

.8 Important: The 3Dfx textures are still the Hawaii textures... this is a known bug and we'll have a fix up soon.

.10 The Network missions have not been changed. You still can fly the F-18 online

.13 Thank you supporting our efforts in the past. Thanks to GSC for allowing us to release these add-ons, and to the 410 Demons for some great fights online.

"During it's initial development the F-14 'failed' it's air-to-ground certification, thus the F-14 program focused mainly on the air-to-air mission. In 1990, new hardware was introduced for carriage and deployment of air-to-ground storesfrom the F-14 aircraft. What followed in the next six years, and still continues today, is the certification of air-to-ground stores for employment from the F-14 aircraft.."
