| The Department of Education's funding of a £0.75 million extension to Coláiste an Phiarsaigh is a vote of confidence, not alone in the school, but also in the most significant growth area of education in Ireland-Irish-medium education. the extension provides additional classrooms, a library, an art studio, a science laboratory and a computer centre. Coláiste an Phiarsaigh is now one of the largest all-Irish schools in the country. |
| The success of Coláiste an Phiarsaigh could not have been achieved without the support of the people from Glanmire, Riverstown and Glounthane. Unlike other scoileanna lán -Gaeilge, the vast bulk of the students come from the locality. It is indeed a tribute to the people of the greater Glanmire area that they have the confidence and the commitment to support the core values of Coláiste an Phiarsaigh. |
| The use of the Irish Language in all matters pertaining to the school is seen to enhance abilities and achievements over the whole spectrum of school life. the mastery of several languages seems to enrich and stimulate pupils. Coláiste an Phiarsaigh, for instance, has a record second to none in English Language debating, winning All-Ireland individual speaker of the year in the 'Philosoph' in recent times. |
| The Coláiste's achievements have not been confines to the area of languages. Pupils from Coláiste an Phiarsaigh have also enjoyed considerable success in the Young Scientist of the Year competition. Participation in various musical and cultural events such as Slógadh, Feis Maitiú and Feis na Laoi is encouraged and entrants have achieved national success in Art, drama and Musical Categories. A number of years ago, by special invitation of the Russian education authorities, an exchange trip for scientifically oriented pupils was organised. |
| Sport plays a significant role in the development of pupils in Coláiste an Phiarsaigh. Having a swimming pool on campus enables students to undertake a swimming programme as part of their Physical Education classes. Basketball, hurling, football, athletics and tennis are also part of school activities. |
