John hails from Dunmanway in the County of Cork, the Rebel County, but he has been living in Lucan, County Dublin since his return from England a few years back. He studied at University in Huddersfield where he got his degree in Logistics. He is working in Lucan now. John has gained national and international recognition for his great achievment in winning a Silver medal at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens, his first paralympic experience. He has also competed at World Championships and at European Championships in the Field Events. John loves motorsport, be they on bikes or in Formula 1. Having seen the way that he drives, he wouldn't be out of place behind the wheel of a rally car. John is single, a non-smoker and is a Bakardi 'n Coke drinker.
