Lá Fhéile Pádraig

Our Principal Múinteoir Yvonne and Múinteoir Áine prepared the children for the Irish mass in the Cathedral which was celebrated by Fr Brendan O'Sullivan. The children took part in the offertory Procession other prayers throughout the mass. They did their parents and teachers proud. This year Gaelscoil and Longfoit was asked by John Crossan with the Eco Warriors to participate in the parade in conjunction with his own float. We were delighted to take part and thankfully the weather stayed in our favour. A very enjoyable day was had by the children, parents and spectators. "Go raibh mile maith agaibh" to all involved for making this another successful event for the Gaelscoil. We also won a prize for the third year in succession.

Seó na Nollag

A rousing version of "Na Tri Mhuc" was presented by Na Naíonáin Bheaga and Na Naíonáin Mhóra to a packed hall of appreciative parents and friends in December '99. Múinteoir Yvonne and Múinteoir Áine did a marvellous job in preparing the children for what was a wonderful mornings entertainment. "Daidí na Nollag" made a surprise appearance after the show and he had a 'bronntanas' for each of the children.

Ranganna Snámha

Na Naíonáin Bheaga agus Na Naíonáin Mhóra have been attending swimming lessons every Tuesday at 12.00 in Longford swimming pool. Catherine gradually gets the children used to being in the water before she encourages them to venture out on their own. The children love this class and have taken to swimming like ducks to water. "Go raibh míle maith agaibh" to all the parents who help out in the changing room.

An Leabharlann Ghluaiste

Gaelscoil and Longfoirt has acquired an extensive range of wonderful reading matter from the Mobile Library. The children really enjoyed choosing their books.
