Blocking & Attacking Tools
Forefist (Ap Joomuk)
This is the part of the hand we use to perform basic punching technique.
Knifehand (Sonkal)
The knifehand which uses the side of the hand from the wrist to the main knuckle of the little finger, is a very powerful blocking and attacking tool.
How to make a proper knifehand:
Forearm (Palmok)
As beginners, we learn to block with both the outer and inner forearm. We learn to use the outer forearm (Bakkat Palmok) on the low block and the inner forearm (An Palmok) on the middle block.
TIP!
Beginner students often get confused as to which is outer and
which is inner forearm. A simple way to remember is this: Stand
naturally with your arms relaxed by your sides. In this position,
the inner forearm is always the one closest to your body and the
outer forearm is further away.
