Things to Do in Cork "Lough Mahon"

A short distance from the start of this walk is the famous" Blackrock Castle".There has been a castle on the site since medieval times but the present castle was built in the mid 19th century in mock-baronial style. It now houses an observatory and planetarium. This walk continues right around the beautiful Mahon peninsula and joins up with the Blackrock to passage railway walk. This walkway can be accessed from three locations Mahon side (car parking available) Douglas side next to Hearty quay (car parking available) and the Blackrock side near the Atlantic pond.
