AthlethicsThe Gonzaga CROSS COUNTRY Team competed in very challenging conditions at the East Leinster Competition in Blackrock College. The Teams did very well with the Senior Team taking third place and qualifying for the Leinsters. Darach Connolly came in an impressive 10th place with George Eves three places behind. Stephen Reilly and Daniel Morrissey added extra valuable points with courageous runs.
The Intermediate team came fourth overall just missing out on qualification. John Moriarty came 12th and qualifies individually for the Leinsters. Richard Crowley ran a great race coming in 19th out of a field of over a 100 runners. Well done to all who ran on a very wet, windy and difficult course. Finally, thank you to all the parents who have given lifts to the athletes throughout the season. Without your help the boys would not have been able to compete.

INTERPROS
Congratulations to Ross McCarron, Simon Morrissey and Kevin McLaughlin on playing for Leinster Schools and winning the Interpro series. Well done again, Kevin and Ross, on playing for Ireland against Australia Schools.
The TABLE TENNIS season continues apace. Our league success last year has resulted in us competing in very high divisions. All credit to our Minors (Robert Browne, Andrew Broderick, Simon Casey, Peter Cloonan, Donal Connolly, Shane Bolger) who have won two and drawn one match to guarantee a highly respectable finish. Our Senior I team (Simon Holohan, Ed Wrynn, Colin Kane and the ever versatile Barry King) are still in contention for Cup honours but home and away Division I league defeats, albeit by the narrowest of margins, to Coláiste Phádraig have almost certainly scuppered our hopes of repeating the Senior League and Cup Double this year. A heavy defeat for our Senior II team (Neil Harrington, Graham Neary, Aidan Ryan and Niall McDowell) away to Newbridge last week sees us struggling at the wrong end of the Division II table but they assure us that recovery is imminent. Our Juniors have had difficulty in maintaining their momentum due to league withdrawals by other schools (clearly it's the Gonzaga fear factor) but with three fixtures coming up could yet secure league honours.
