Gonzaga Swimmers Excel!
Gonzaga once again dominated the Irish Schools Swimming Championships held this year at Bishopstown, Cork, on 8th and 9th February. Our Juniors won the Medley Relay Cup and took Silver in the Freestyle. Gonzaga's Seniors, current Irish Senior Schools Freestyle record holders, won the Senior Freestyle Relay Cup for the 3rd consecutive year and were Bronze medallists in the Senior Medley Relay.
All Gonzaga's swimmers put in excellent performances in their individual events. In particular, Mark Doyle (S.6), retained his Irish Schools Senior 100m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle Cups. David Mathews (S.2) took the Silver medal in the Junior 200m Individual Medley and Bronze in the Junior 100m Backstroke.

ATHLETHICS
The Athletics season will start the first week after the Easter break. Please keep an eye on the notice boards for practice schedules.

ASTRONOMY CLUB
The Gonzaga Astronomy Club will shortly be having another meeting. As it is a weather dependent activity it is not possible to confirm any date but efforts are being made to hold it between now and the Easter holidays. To check dates please e-mail gonzagaastronomy@hotmail.com.

Secondly, due to huge demand, we were unable to get tickets for the Astronomer Royal's lecture on Tuesday 12th in Trinity College about the History of the Universe.
