Christina's son, John Weir, (his father was William Weir), was born out of wedlock. She remained unmarried until 1890, when at the age of 40, she married the 59 year old James Linn. The 1881 census tells us that Christina had addopted a young 4 year old girl by the name of Kate Linn. I assume that Kate was the daughter of Christina's husband James, who at the time of their marriage, was a widower.
