Ann was John's second wife, he was a widower when he married Ann in 1867. John's first wife was Elizabeth Hall, they were married in 1849. Elizabeth died in 1863.
In both the 1871 and 1881 census, John is a Labourer and lived at Broad St, Denny. The Death cert of John's wife Ann Loonie, records that John was a Dyke Builder.
